Hey all, Ive finally decided Im gonna jump into Chrono Trigger as Ive been wanting to for a little while but I have a weird question? Is there any real downside to playing the Original SNES version vs the DS remake? I know the DS Version has a new translation, some cutscenes and some new content, but at this point with the DS version would I be missing out on something by going for the SNES version.I would love to play this on my TV as opposed to my 3DS, but I would be willing to use my 3DS if there is a significant bonus.Thanks. Yup, those sure were. With exclusion of FFVII which he barely was involved in and was only taking up the torch handed to him to help finish near the end.Masato Kato wrote several late-game scenes, including the Lifestream sequence and Cloud and Tifa's conversation before the final battle. Initially unaffiliated with the project, Kato was called on to help flesh out less important story scenes. He wrote his scenes to his own tastes without outside consultation, something he later regretted.

Something not being mentioned here is that the PC version is rapidly approaching 'definitive version' status. The graphics have been more or less fixed, they've reintroduced the SNES-style UI and it has modability, unlike the others (barring romhacks and whatnot). In addition, it has the new (and much better) translation from the DS version alongside all of its extra content, and you can hook a PC up to a TV to play it on a big screen. I say if you have a computer that can run it, go with that version.
